Correction

For maximum patient comfort during laser vision correction, Alcon has developed an ergonomic smart bed (operating table) with an adjustable headrest. After treatment of the eyelids and skin around the eyes, a sterile drape is placed on the patient's face to limit the surgical field. An eyelid dilator is installed between the patient's eyelids - and in our Center there are several models of eyelid dilators of various sizes, which allow the intervention to be performed without pain and comfortably for the patient. Anesthetic and disinfectant drops are repeatedly instilled into the conjunctival cavity.

When performing laser vision correction using the LASIK method, one of the stages of the intervention is the creation of a superficial flap (flap) - for this, a vacuum ring is installed on the eye and a superficial corneal flap is created using a microkeratome using a disposable blade. Next, the surgeon “throws back” the flap fixed on the stem, opening access to the deeper layers of the cornea (stroma).

The successfully proven Wave Light Ex500 excimer laser from the world leader Alcon allows us to quickly and accurately create an individualized corneal profile, avoiding heating and tissue burns, which allows our patients to enjoy good vision within a few hours after the intervention. During the operation of the laser (ablation), the patient is asked to fixate the green mark in front of the eye. Next, the flap is placed in its original place, the bed is washed with patented Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor N.I. Poznyak. solutions to reduce surgical trauma to the organ of vision and shorten the patient’s rehabilitation period. After drying the excess moisture, the surgeon removes the eyelid speculum.
