Washing of lacunae of tonsils

This procedure is used for chronic tonsillitis during remission or for the accumulation of caseous masses in the lacunae of the palatine tonsils.

Using a syringe with a curved cannula, which is inserted into the lacunae of the tonsils, the latter are washed with a medicinal solution under pressure. For smaller gaps, vacuum suction can be used.

Usually no anesthesia is required; lidocaine solution is used only in case of increased gag reflex.

The number of procedures is 5-10, determined by the doctor. Several sessions per year may be needed.

Contraindications:

• - ARI with increased body temperature
• - exacerbation of chronic tonsillitis (purulent tonsillitis)
